Matsuyama Castle is one of only 12 castles in Japan which are still extant as they were in the Edo period. The castle is beautiful standing on a 132-meter-high hill. From the top floor of the main tower, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Matsuyama City, the Inland Sea, and the Shikoku Mountains.

The bathhouse in the animated movie "Spirited Away" was modeled after this building.

Shikoku island is well-known for the 88-Temple Pilgrimage. Its origin dates back to over 1200 years. Motives of making a pilgrimage differ depending on the individual.
