Sankeien Garden in Honmoku, Yokohama, is an open-air museum of traditional Japanese houses owned by the Hara family, a business tycoon of silk trading during Meiji and Taisho era, and was opened to the public in 1906.
We’re touring the garden in three hours.
Key words for the day are silk trading of the time and its influence on Japan today, traditional Japanese houses and their uniqueness, an average family structure of the time and at present, guardian deities of children and travelers, among others. We'll make the tour enjoyable.
