Have you ever worn authentic Japanese armor, that samurai were actually wearing, unlike those in films, manga, or games?

If your answer is “No”, now is the time!

At waza, you can put on a beautifully hand-crafted armor called “kacchu”.

When you are finally in your armor, it’s time to capture yourself in 360 degrees with 20 cameras in the photo studio, which is decorated in the motif of headquarters during a battle. The photos can be shared with your family and friends online. You are also allowed to take photos with your own camera or phone.

This photo is sure to be one of your best memories from Japan!

*There is another tour includes “Taking a walk in your armor”.

Waza provides an extraordinary experience.
By wearing authentic Japanese armor you can have the experience of being a Samurai!

We have 10 authentically-crafted, reproduction sets of Samurai armor, all hand-made by skilled craftsman and artisans in Japan. Each set of armor is individually designed and modelled after the actual one used by high-ranking Samurai during the warring states period.

Japanese armor has evolved with changing weapons and battle styles over the years. It became as important to be beautiful as to be an effective means of defense.

A set of armor consists of several parts and weighs around 20 kgs in total! As you put on each piece of armor one by one, you might start feeling like a Samurai!
The weight of the armor will make you wonder what was it was like to be in an actual battle hundreds of years ago………

Why don’t you become the last samurai yourself and make a special memory here in Asakusa, Tokyo?

STAFF: The staff at WAZA is super friendly. They speak not only fluent English but also Japanese, French, Chinese, and Korean. That helped me understand the historical facts and trivia about samurai culture even better.
LOCATION: Super close to Asakusa station, which makes booking it into an Asakusa sight seeing day easy. WAZA opened recently so everything is sparkly clean and super comfortable.
GENERAL FEEDBACK: I had a great time dressing up like a samurai!
Waza gives visitors a chance to feel Japanese culture on their own skin by wearing authentic samurai gear. The weight and movement in the armor let me glimpse into the world and traditions of samurai in Japan. The staff know a lot about the history and connections, which is great for people who want to not only dress up but also find out more. The 360° pictures and video is a really cool technological twist, that I could not have recreated with my smartphone and that will be great for sharing it online with my friends.
