Description of this tour

One hour and a half ride away from Tokyo on 'Hikari' Bullet train, you will get to Hamamatsu Station.  From the station one-hour bus ride will bring you to the scenery of paddy-fields with low hills, peculiar to Japanese countryside. In the midst of the rich nature stand zen temples where you will be leisurely spending the whole day. You can have authentic 'Zen' experiences here breathing in fresh air and forgetting everyday routines. Hokoji temple stands in the deep woods. The air is refreshing. You can meditate in a large temple hall, if you wish. And you will have all vegetarian healthy Zen lunch. In the afternoon you will visit another Zen temple, Ryotanji temple. You will never want to leave the beautifully well-kept Zen garden. The sophisticated beauty quietly fullfills the visitors' minds. All day you will be surrounded by the nature in the deep rural area.

Hokoji temple

Hokoji temple is situated on the quiet foresty mountain. If you wish, you can enjoy meditation and listen to the priest talk about various things. ( It will be translated by the guide.) Then vegetarian zen lunch is served. The temple is surrounded by five hundred stone statues. They date back to a few hundred years ago. Just strolling in the temple precinct will refresh your body and mind.
