Description of this tour
Your tour would be something like the following. Of course, the schedule is flexible at your request. You could make the school visit shorter and spend more time seeing the sights or vice versa. You could also visit a high school if you would like to enjoy talking more with the students in English. I could tailor your tour the way you would like me to, even the activities you would experience with the students at school.
Suggested 'School visit with sightseeing spots' tour
・Leave your hotel or Aomori Port at around 9:00 a.m.
①Visit the sightseeing spots in the morning in the area where the school you are visiting is located
＊Choose the places from the following
A. Great Statue of Buddha in Seiryuji Temple & Warasse Nebuta Museum
B. Hirosaki Castle in Hirosaki Park & Five-storied Pagoda
C. Rice Paddy Art & Seibien Landscape Garden
D. Goshogawara Tachi Neputa Museum & Tsuru no Mai Bridge over Tsugaru Fujimi Lake
E. Tsugaru Kanayama Pottery & Takayama Inai Shrine
Note : The sightseeing spots you are visiting may be decided by the school you are visiting. The sightseeing spots and the school should be in the same area to save time to move and spend more time in school.
②School lunch with the students in the classroom during lunch time
＊If you don't want to try school lunch, we can eat out before we head for school.
③Observe and even participate in the class
＊You are likely to visit an English class, so you can join the students during the lesson
④Get-together with the students
○The students will welcome you, introducing their school and themselves and/or giving you some performances to entertain you
○You will tell them your impression of your visit, answer their questions and briefly introduce your country
＊I would interpret for you and them, so both of you can understand each other
⑤Watch the students clean their classroom after school
＊You can even do the cleaning with them
＊Japanese students are expected to clean their classrooms and other places in the school building after school
＊If you are interested and still have time, you can discuss with the teachers with my help or watch the extracurricular activities
・Head back to your hotel or Aomori Port
As a national licensed guide-interpreter, I'd like to tailor your tours to meet your individual needs as well as show you around places of scenic beauty and historical interest. I can show you around the entire Aomori Prefecture and the southern Hokkaido including Hakodate. Aren’t you interested in visiting Japanese schools and talking with the students and teachers, for example? Leave it all to me. You name it, I’ll make it possible for you.
I lived in San Francisco from 1983 to 1985 and majored in MATEFL (Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Foreign Language) at San Francisco State. Just call me George if it's easier for you to call.
