We had just come off the mountain where we experienced the immenseness of Mt. Fuji. On this tour, we were able to step back in history and learn how this mountain had evolved over thousands of years and how the local people over the centuries responded to Mt. Fuji. The Fujisan World Heritage Center uses state of the art technology to tell the story of Mt. Fuji and the people of the region. Our guides provided insights and patiently answered our many questions. Funatsu Tainai Lava Tree Mold is a fascinating work of nature and it was interesting to learn how people have found spiritual expression within this cave. For those who want more than a postcard view of Mt. Fuji, this tour will enrich your appreciation of this world famous landmark.
