Walking the streets of ancient Nara takes you back to another era of lifestyle in Japan. Kiyomi explained the significance of the architecture of the ancient city and how people lived during that age. We enjoyed lunch at a delightful noodle shop that overlooked a tree covered creek. The atmosphere and food were excellent. She led us to two different gardens, allowing us to enjoy the "tea house" leisure of locals throughout the centuries as they would make a day of enjoying a meal, making macha tea, writing poetry and strolling the gardens.
We loved the relaxing pace of our tour which allowed us to absorb the tranquility of these timeless gardens.
